WebApr 23, 2011 · The pump arm adjustment is for the hesitation, and the secondary screw is for the bog. Some carb experts here may have some better insight on that. Try tightening (slowing the secondary opening) the screw with big steps, say, a quarter of a turn at a time. When the bog goes away, loosen the screw 1/16 of a turn until the bog comes back. I need to tighten a little more. I believe folks end up adding a weight to the 1406 to keep the air valve closed longer.

This may create a bog because it goes too lean when the throttle opens and the rods pop up too late.
